TESTIMONIALS

Your portrait of our child is so lovely - we are full of pride and joy every time we look at it. My husband was so moved to receive it. You truly did a wonderful thing for our family!

What to Expect

  • After the initial contact, the client and I will discuss the size (head & shoulders, 1/2 figure, 3/4 length or full length), medium (graphite, pastel, watercolor or oil), background (plain or complex) and the mood of the portrait (casual or formal).
  • Once a decision has been made to the size, medium and background, I will photograph the subject. The photo session will last for approximately 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 hours. If necessary, I may also do a small color study.
  • After I pre-select photos, I will supply the client with several choices and assist the client in selecting the best pose for the portrait.
  • Once a pose has been decided on, I will proceed with the preliminary black & white sketch.
  • As I continue on to the color phase of the portrait, an image will be emailed to the client for review. Once approval has been given, I will proceed to completion.
  • After the portrait has been completed, I will notify the client that the portrait is ready to be picked up or I can pack and mail the art.
  • A 50% deposit is due after the contract is signed and the remaining 50% is due upon completion and delivery of the portrait.
  • A contract will be provided for the client to sign. The client will receive a signed contract by me, the artist.
  • If the client resides in the NYC area, I can recommend a highly qualified and reasonably priced framer.
  • If the client has a favorite photo of the subject, I will look at the photo and judge if it has the detail necessary for a portrait painting. The same criteria would pertain to a photo needed for a posthumous portrait.
  • If the client gives the approval, I would like to add the final image to my website.

For prices, please contact the artist.
